FOOD/DRINK
Our intention is to remain a traditional village pub rather than become yet another 'gastro' eatery, one that offers an excellent but simple high quality range of dishes and freshly prepared rolls. Usually we have just four or five hot dishes on each day of the 'one pot wonder' variety plus vegetable soup in autumn and winter, and a couple of salads in the summer.
All of our food is locally sourced, and home cooked each day.Our bread comes from Maison Clement in Newnham
and our meat comes from our two wonderful local butchers, Cousins in Newnham and Barkers in Shelford.
The Blue Ball has always had a great reputation for the quality of its ales, and as a free house we offer excellent award winning ales from East Anglia's leading brewers, including Adnams, Woodfordes and other selected guest brewers. Our cider from Cranes is made just a few miles away from Cambridgeshire apples.
Wines come from the leading local wine merchant, Cambridge Wines, and we also have Cambridge Gin on offer, distilled right here in Grantchester.
The kitchen is open from 12-230 ands 5-830pm Wednesday to Friday, on Saturday from 12-830 and on Sunday from 12-4pm.( Please note that we don't take table bookings.)
